mUSic feVEr 3...noT juST a sONg.

Papa, wish could express, how much your daughter miss you? Definitely I do! So much……Before 2 and a half years (or 3 years) I don’t remember a single day staying away from you. When I insisted for the school picnic (for 2 days)…..oh I remember your expression! T…w….o…..days….no need! How much I cried, papa! You equally couldn’t take my tears. Finally ended up with a ‘yes’…….But today when I sit and think it is already been more than 2 years that I am staying away from you, I feel strange and unreal! Sorry papa…. I know it hurts but I need to be here because of some promises that I made you. When I feel lonely or miss you a lot, I listen to your favourite song! The song we use to play in the walkman when we were out for a walk after dinner. Oh, you made me to fall in love with that song of ‘RUDALI’ (till today). Now in this blog unlike the other post it is not going to be any translation. I will just write down the lyrics as it is very close to my heart. It’s special….because it has the SMELL OF THE MEMORIES!

song from the movie RUDALI (1993)

Dil hoom hoom kare, ghabraaye

Ghan dham dham kare, darr jaaye

Ek boond kabhi paani ki mori ankhiyon se barsaaye

Dil hoom hoom kare, ghabraaye

Teri jhori daaroon sab sukhe paat jo aaye

Tera chhua laage, meri sukhi daar hariyaaye

Dil hoom hoom kare, ghabraaye

Jis tan ko chhua tune, us tan ko chhupaaoon

Jis man ko laage naina, voh kisko dikhaaoon

O more chandrama, teri chaandni ang jalaaye

Teri oonchi ataari maine pankh liye katwaaye

Dil hoom hoom kare, ghabraaye

Ghan dham dham kare, darr jaaye

Ek boond kabhi paani ki mori ankhiyon se barsaaye

Dil hoom hoom kare, ghabraaye...

PS- d song originate 4rm BHUPEN HAZARIKA and later used in d movie.

mUSic feVEr 2....

After the first post I was wondering what should be the next update
but thanks
to my best buddy who brought to light a song that I must not skip in my blog. When he heard this song of Zubeen he tried to sing it. Being a non-assamese, the accent he used was lovely to hear. When he tried to pronounce the word “oina oi” I could see his struggle(haha) . It was amazing to see him singing (trying to sing actually..haha) this particular sentence. “I really like the music of the song and I am in love with the words OINA OI OINA OI…..”,he said.Off course it is one my favorite number too which always have its trace in my playlist. The song is from Zubeen’s album “JONAKI MON” .The music is basically the blend of less number of instruments and the use of “dhol” gave it a contemporary touch . I would love to dedicate this entire post to the“OINA OI OINA OI” lover(Mr.R.J)….itz for you buddy and I hope you will like it and learn the song….
Lyrics of D song---
Ulomi ulomi thake dui uthote hahi
Jilike jillika tora mukuta du pari
Oina oi oina oi koina tumi mur ghoror lokhimi
Ulomi ulomi thake dui uthote hahi
Jilike jillika tora mukuta du pari
Oina oi(2) koina tumi mur ghoror lokhimi
Ki khadhilu ki mangilu palu jipalu morom tumar
Mur andharot, mur kaal rati
Musi musi thola hoia junak
Oina oi(2) koina tumi mur ghoror lokhimi(2)
Kolijate mur tejote utholi uthise hepah huta

Aalphule koi dhori ki ghoru
Logai napaw ukha hote ukhaaa
Oina oi(2) koina tumi mur ghoror lokhimi(2)
Ulomi ulomi thake dui uthote hahi
Jilike jillika tora mukuta du pari
Oina oi oina oi koina tumi mur ghoror lokhimi
The plot of the song goes like---a groom is singing for his bride. The picturisation of the song shows an assamese bride with the traditional costume. The groom beautifully addresses to his bride that how happy he is to get her as his life partner. He makes a comparison of her beauty with light.
Meaning D song---
Smile always hangs to your lips
The pair of the eyes always twinkles
My bride you are the wealth of my house..
What I desire and what I asked for?
I got only and only your love
My darkness and my a dark night
But you wiped it by acting as the light
My bride you are the wealth of my house..
In my heart and in my blood
the excitement is sparking.
I am going to hold you with lots of care.
My bride you are the wealth of my house..

mUSic feVEr 1.....

Many blogs many stories but this is going to be a diverse one. The purpose behind this blog is just to share some facts about my playlist with my music freak friends. It is a dedicating to both the categories of my friends i.e. people who love to listen to songs and people who love to sing. Now you must be wondering about the funda behind this blog. Well there is so much in my container for you which I would like to pour slowly slowly on you guys. I can claim that you will surely get entertained by this blog of mine.
After going through a hectic day when I relax on the bed I love to plug in the earphone and scroll the button to my favorite number. I hope most of you do that. I have been listening to Zubeen from the time that I don’t remember. Now all my non-assamese friends may not be familiar to this name. Just a line to describe Zubeen would be “the soul of assamese music”. There will be barely anyone in Assam who could tell “I don’t like Zubeen’s song”. So many albums and so many hits. If you can recall the “ya ali” song from Gangster……he is the same singer. The best part of his songs is the heart touching lyrics. In this blog I just would like to share few of his lyrics and will attempt to translate it for my non-assamese friends. It may not be the exact translation but still would love to give a try.

The current track of Zubeen that I am listening these days is all about a red hanky. The emotion behind a hanky is beautifully embodied in this song. This is a song from his album “RUMAL”. The lyrics of the song goes like this-----

Ekobin khokutikar prem kahini, rumalore bhajote shmritire rengoni
Ekobin khokutikar mur kahini, rumalore khasote shmrity hoi moromi
Rumalor bhajee bhajee,dukhore binoni,
Rumalot kahini.rumalot ziboni,rumalot humonia,rumalot usopponi
Rumal rumal rumal rumal rumal, ekhon rongga rumal
Rumal rumal rumal rumal rumal, ajir kheta rumal.
khai kun kahanit dekha aijuri kajol soku
monot porile ajiu khuke khunde buku
krishno surar tolot,schoolor duporiyat
classor phake phake, koto nu umal kotha
lutiyai sale ziboni paaw mathu
Rumal rumal rumal rumal rumal, ekhon rongga rumal
Rumal rumal rumal rumal rumal, ajir kheta rumal.
Khitore khemeka eti aabeli ase monot
Hothate korubak eri oha bedona pranot
Khikto sokur kajal,odhorot bikhal kumol
Aajoli bhorai lolu,khopun sikun kumol
Ekhagor morom nigora khai rumal
Rumal rumal rumal rumal rumal, ekhon rongga rumal
Rumal rumal rumal rumal rumal, ajir kheta rumal.
Ekobin khokhu tikar prem kahini, rumalore bhajote shmritire rengoni
Ekobin khokutikar mur kahini, rumalore khasote shmrity hoi morom
Rumalor bhajee bhajee,dukhore binoni,
Rumalot kahini.rumalot ziboni,rumalot humonia,rumalot usopponi
Rumal rumal rumal rumal rumal, ekhon rongga rumal
Rumal rumal rumal rumal rumal, ajir kheta rumal.

It is slightly a different idea but after reading the meaning of this song hopefully you will think over it. When we cry we use a napkin or a hanky. Our tears are absorbed in it and all our emotions remains there. In this song a boy addresses to his lost childhood love and he relates all the emotions with a red hanky----
It’s the love story of 1 among 1000's, in d foldings of a hanky.
Among 1000's it is my love story and

In d form of a hanky my love became memory.
In every foldings of the hanky, the weeping of the pain is preserved
The story remains in this hanky, all weeping’s remain in this hanky
It’s this red hanky which is moistening today.
It is been an era that I saw those smoky eyes , full of “kajal”
when I recall it now, the sorrow hits my heart hard
Under the Krishnosura(name of a big tree),

In d afternoon’s of the school days
In the middle of the class I remember those funny gossips
When I turn d pages of my autobiography, I only find d red hanky
Hanky and only this hanky which is moisten today.
I remember the wet evening of that winter when I suddenly left you
I remember d pinch inside my heart when I left you that day
The splitting kajal of the wet eyes was magical and huge to look at
I took all that into my arms as a transparent and smooth dream
The love was equal to sea and it was preserved in the hanky

It is this hanky and the red hanky that's
All I have with me today as you……..
